Accessibility Statement
The Imagines Nummorum (ImagNum) project is carried out by the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The Academy is committed to making its web services accessible.
The digital accessibility statement is required by the Berlin Act on Accessible Information and Communication Technology (BIKTG Bln). The technical accessibility requirements are set out in BITV 2.0.
This accessibility statement applies to the website at www.imagines-nummorum.eu.
The Ordinance on the Creation of Accessible Information Technology pursuant to the Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act (BITV 2.0) specifies the requirements for the accessible design of websites and other graphical user interfaces, such as apps. The aim of BITV 2.0 is to design websites and other graphical interfaces in such a way that people with disabilities can use them without restrictions. In addition to adopting internationally recognised standards for accessible web content, the needs of deaf, hearing-impaired, learning-disabled and cognitively disabled people are also to be taken into account.
When was the accessibility statement created?
This statement was created on 5 August 2026 and last updated on 6 August 2026.
The review of digital accessibility was carried out by means of a self-assessment, based on automated HTML analyses of all public pages against the criteria of WCAG 2.1 conformance level AA and a review using the tools Lighthouse and axe DevTools. In addition, a manual review using TalkBack (Android screen reader) was carried out.
How accessible is the website?
This website is partially compliant with BITV 2.0. Some requirements have not yet been fully assessed or are not yet fully met.
Which areas are not accessible?
Sections that are not fully compliant with BITV 2.0:
1. Barrier: External PDF documents
Description: The website contains links to PDF documents published by third parties as well as to PDF documents produced by the project itself without consideration of accessibility requirements. The accessibility of external documents is the responsibility of their respective publishers. For older in-house PDF documents, retroactive accessible preparation is not possible in all cases.
Measures: New in-house PDF documents will be created in an accessible format where possible. Existing documents will not be reworked.

2. Barrier: Testing with assistive technologies
Description: A manual review using TalkBack (Android screen reader) has been carried out; issues identified in the process (navigation, date ranges) have been resolved. A complete review using common desktop screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) has not yet been carried out.
Measures: Ongoing review using further assistive technologies.
